Buy, Sell and Exchange Text Links with TNX.net

Recently we were talking a lot about paid links, so I think you might be interested in a little sponsored review of TNX.net which is listed below. If you would like to give a try to the TNX.net service, there’s my affiliate link ;)

First impressions
Engine of TNX.net works in similar way to common link exchange services that most of you already know - there’s a system of points. Users can earn TNX-points on adding their websites to the system, then advertisers can buy text link ads and launch their own TNX.net campaign. Both publishers and advertisers can register and ask for some free points in this threat at DigitalPoint forums.

TNX.net for publishers - How to earn the points
After your website is approved (it may take 1-3 days) it will be indexed by the TNX system, and within very short period of time links will start to appear on pages of your website. In general - there are only 2 requirements: your site must be indexed in Google AND your hosting must provide PHP, Perl or asp scripting (in most cases your site passes well both of them). However, the way that TNX.net uses to count numbers of points you receive is pretty complex - that means if you want to find how much your sites are worth for the system, you need to sign-up. However, pricing is much more simple - you get exactly $0.62 for 1000 points sold to TNX (but when you sell them directly to other user there’s no commission for TNX and all the money flows straight into your wallet). Also there’s an Income Calculator which could be helpful to estimate how much can you earn on a single website pointed to TNX.net system.

TNX.net for advertisers - How to make a campaign
Let’s say you are SEO and you are going to boost your rankings with TNX.net. Recently you were paying around 30 dollars for a single PR4 link displayed on semi-popular site with Text Link Ads, what you can do with TNX.net? For the same price you can get FIVE text links from different sites with PageRank4. In addition - you can set few parameters for sites where your ads should appear on, such as: categories, PageRank, geo-location, and number of Yahoo Backlinks. This is nice, isn’t it? Yes, it means that even if sucky TLA would say “bye-bye” to their sucky 50% commission, TNX.net could be simply better for your business.

Affiliate program
All affiliates get 13.3% of all TNX-points that are generated by their websites. In addition, you will receive 5% of all payments, made by referred advertiser (this option will work after PayPal payments will be automated). The best thing in TNX.net affiliate program is an innovative feature for you to hide all referral links you use on a single page - for instance in a forum thread, where different ways to earn money on a site are discussed, you can mention TNX.net system, and then point the URL of to that threat to your affiliate account. This is really nice, they seem to be the first company that doesn’t blow off their affiliates! For ones that don’t know why - this feature is easy to implement in every single affiliate program, guess why most of companies don’t provide it ;)

Future possible improvements
Maybe some opportunity to choose websites by number of indexed pages would be a nice addition to their offer. The biggest improvement I would like to see may well be an alternative to Google PageRank. Thanks to the miff of Google all sites that were established earlier than beginning of this year are underestimated (period of time listed in case of number of sites I own, guess yours do similar), and there’s still no good way to monetize it with ANY text links sales. I’m afraid this sick situation may not change soon, so you link brokers will have to develop it on your own. Especially if both Yahoo and Microsoft are not going to take it over and all PageRanks will be getting more and more outdated & useless (which seems to be the major goal for Google at the moment, in my humble opinion).

If you enjoyed the idea, there’s my affiliate link again. This time you can click on the promotional banner placed below ;)

I don’t think these kind of ads are such a hot idea right now given the lack of PR update along with Google applying penalties to sites that sell links to pass PR.

  2. Florchakh says:

This is a fairy tale, I haven’t noticed any penalties. If you are afraid of “obliging spam reporters”, at least you can describe them as “Useful Resources” instead of “Sponsored Links“, don’t you? ;)

  3. Acopic Web Design says:

Not sure about penalties being applied to sites selling links but I’ve definately seen SERP positions drop when I’ve used Text Link Ads. Even small link purchases.

  4. JFC says:

Unfortunately, it is quite real. Official: Selling Paid Links Can Hurt Your PageRank Or Rankings On Google, It seems they’re currently hand adjusting the toolbar PR on some sites but they may penalize sites more in the future. This doesn’t affect search engine position, only the ability to pass PageRank to other sites.

Thanks JFC, damn as always I’m late. This post is also interesting, I’m ranked within Top Commentators at NetBusinessBlog.

    Also I found this quote:

(…) Google said that some sites that are selling links may indeed end up being dropped from its search engine or have penalties attached to prevent them from ranking well.

SEO is getting harder and harder. This means that in future SEO services might be much more expensive than they already are.

Good luck for all sites listed within Text Link Ads offer directory ;)

Both of my blogs http://www.bontb.com and http://www.hawaiib.com had PR5 and dropped down to 0 I have not sold any TLA for over 7 months except tnx and guess what? 2 weeks ago my PR is now 0 !!!!!!

    F*** that :)

Tough luck dude. Remove the crap from your sites and request reconsideration via Google webmaster tools, there’s no two ways about it.
