PageRank Update - c’mon, stop being evil, come it off…

google-pagerank.jpg

Recent PageRank export was made exactly 152 days ago, pretty pesky doesn’t it? If Googlers are not going to update goddamn green progress bar, why they still don’t want to remove it? Lack of PageRank is not a problem, the REAL problem is the fact that everybody puts the matter on it, so it might be pretty detrimental for owners of all sites that were established only few months ago.

Let alone inessential problem of paid links - if your site was not landed earlier than one year ago, currently there’s simply no way to sell this website (or get advertisers and monetize it) for a tolerable price. That’s sick…

There’s also one another important question - why others (Microsoft, Yahoo, maybe Ask.com?) don’t provide any alternative solution? Too challenging? I don’t think so.

Google, don’t be evil - update or remove it.

Please?

I totally agree. People put too much importance on Page Rank.

I can’t get any SponsoredReviews.com assignments since my PR hasn’t updated (I moved to a new domain a few months ago).

Alright Marc. Now try to imagine the pain of someone that makes living only on landing new websites for sale ;)

Do you think Google did a new pagerank and they are just making it invisible to the rest of the world? I was kind of curious to see what my initial pagerank would be, but I don’t think I’m eligible til the next one anyway.

I know - it seems like an eternity since the last export. Should be soon though - end of October?

    mlankton: Hello, you’re welcome.

I think they didn’t ’cause all old ones are still viewable. People noticed some changes, but they all look like manual updates made by hand (some of web directories, Chow Chow), so I still do bet for November.

PS it takes 10 seconds (!!!) for sidebar on your site to appear, adengage’s code seems to be the source of problem. Why don’t you fix it? :)

Neil: Eternity - nicely said ;)

I think that is caused by the chitika images loading, but I only ever notice the delay to be about 1.5 seconds.

  8. Florchakh says:

Alright then, it must be related to the difference in pings. Maybe the delay appears only for visitors outside the USA? You know, I access internet from Eastern Europe. I retract, unless you put the matter to non-American market. :)

It was Chitika. I took them down just now because the 20 cents I make off them every other day is not worth my page loading slow.
Thanks for the heads up on that, I have a fast connection and I never really noticed it before.
