6 days go by and buddies from BlogRush still haven’t included ANY cover against spamming. Seems I have to agree with Jez and say that my first impressions were TOTALLY fallible.
Below you can see bunch of stats from three different places:
BlogRush results from Problogger (100% natural):
- Number of impressions: 70,000
- Number of clicks: 35
- Click Through Rate: 0.05%
…from Blackhat’s Diary (do not miss with his postings!):
- Number of impressions: 8,429
- Number of clicks: 4
- Click Through Rate: 0.04%
…and from Florchakh Dot Com:
- Number of impressions: 3 (srsly, widget was added to sidebar only for a minute. I was testing how sucky does it look below my tag cloud
)
- Number of clicks:8
- Click Through Rate:266,67% (WTF?!)
Why must it be this way? Why John Reese (owner) sucked with service that was able to be such a GREAT thing? And why mental midgets that developed BlogRush haven’t yet fixed all bugs that allow everyone to game the system? One week is not enough to learn programming and fix it?! While their service is completely SPAMMED they work on new color skins WTF?!
PS: Quote from John Reese’s blog:
SOOOO… I’m looking for someone that wants to make some extra cash. I will reward you handsomely.
Not only will we pay you a nice bit of cash, but I’ll also throw in a copy of Traffic Secrets 2.0 (as soon as it’s completed.)
Okay now I understand why BlogRush sucks. Traffic Secrets 2.0, what a silly title… Damn who spends money on all these hopeless ebooks?

Seriously - Blogrush is just a pyramid scheme anyway. I’d steer well clear of it. It’s just another reciprocal scheme.

Amway 2.0 hahaha

If I understand it right, it is supposed to work a bit similar to old banner exchange systems? I put other people’s banners on my blog, I earn “credits” for showing those banners to my visitors, I spend “credits” on showing my banner on other blogs. And then I get very poor CTR of that banner.
I’d describe it as a large step backwards in web history.

Another damning review of BlogRush. Lyndon from SEO Cornwall has put together a list of other negative posts here.

Heh, perhaps I should execute my little evil plan for online advertising domination?

Jeremy you inspired me to write one more post in this topic

I’ve seen this widget on dozens of sites and can proudly say I have yet to click it once.

I’ve been using Blogrush since day one and I must admit, I’ve found some cool sites with good content because of it. But I have to admit, the initial launch of BlogRush was terrible.

Jeff: Hello Jeff, you’re welcome! Nice blog BTW
September 27th, 2007 #
Thanks Flor. Did you happen to receive the latest BlogRush members email? John Reese sounded like he was going to hunt down all of the cheap skapes using his network and punish them lol.
September 27th, 2007 #
Ok, I do write down: “Do not ever call Jeffro “Jeff”, he doesn’t like it”, hope I will remember
Yeah I did, it was so long and sooo boooooooring

Only thing that went through my mind when I read the e-mail was “They didn’t to beta testing - this should have been here before the public launch”

I wonder about it and it seems to be the biggest bust of recent years. Still cannot figure out how one can launch completely new service, create the buzz, and then take the heat like BlogRush.

Hillarious - I’ve just noticed the title of this post. Quality. LMAO

They ‘fixed the glitch’ apparently by rejecting any new blogs that apply, especially if they’re monetized in any way.
It doesn’t really matter though since the click-thru rate and the traffic from the widget on my blog where I tried it has been non-existent.

Hello JFC, you’re welcome.
I founded out why my CTR was that high. They were giving some piddling bonus to less popular blogs. My widget received only a few impressions, so Florchakh Dot Com was included within them

I’ve found a new service that has launched that I believe will be the way BlogRush should of been. It’s called CLIQ and I’ll be writing a review on it soon.
October 7th, 2007 #
Do you mean this one? Their design looks nice. Anyway, after accident of BlogRush I think I’ll be waiting for your review before I register
October 7th, 2007 #
Yep, thats the one. It’s sort of like blogrush except, you can control who’s apart of your group and which posts of yours you want to have featured on other people’s widgets. If you set your group to invite only, you can target those with relevant content to join your group and hopefully show off the widget thereby sharing in each others traffic.

I took out all those damn ugly widgets–from all my
3 blogs !
Waste of time.
John Reese sucks, Big Time!

Hello Stan, you are welcome
There is one another, similar service. Jeffro has made a review, maybe you will be interested in it. BTW I think I’ve heard that your government has blocked RSS recently, is that true?
October 22nd, 2007 #
I’ve read quite a few already.
I’m not quite sure about the “RSS blocking” deal.
I retire here in Penang since 2000. All my life, I
worked and had my business in foreign countries,
including USA and some European countries.
I don’t monitor anything in the domestic side and
never want to get involved with any sensitive
subjects. I’m only interested in business.
Cheers!

Good to hear that you don’t have any problems, Stan. As always people make a mountain out of a molehill
