There’s a report published today by folks from Compete service. As you can see in the picture added below this post, Facebook is doing well while SpamSpace MySpace is falling down dramatically (20% decrease of page views doesn’t sound good, Rupert Murdoch must be a very very angry man right now, I guess).
Around two weeks ago I registered myself on Facebook (feel free to connect). It’s unbelievable, but exactly NONE of my native friends use this awesome social service. I’ve even tried to invite a few on my own, of course they all were completely not interested. Suckers even don’t know how the thing works

Do you think the language barrier (as Facebook is in English) is somewhat of a deterrent for your fellow countrymen and women?

You are totally right Jon. It works like a vicious circle - language barrier & small number of compatriots registered.

English is almost like a first language in my country but all my folks are on Orkut.

Conclusion - Facebook needs some advertising outside the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom

I’ve just started using Facebook but I’m addicted. It does what Myspace should have done. Not sure about angry - but Rupert Murdoch must be having a few sleepless nights. All that money…….

This is fine, I don’t like him haha
Fall of SpamSpace is ok with me. Especially if there’s such a great service like Facebook, I’m very impressed with Mark Zuckerberg’s success and the way he builds it up since 2004.

I used to like facebook. But after they opened up the ability to make applications - I get stupid requests to install all these new apps and it drives me crazy. It was useful in college though - I even formed a band through facebook. But if I am this disappointed in facebook - imagine what I think of myspa(m)ce.

Your profile must be pretty popular
I’ve heard that few spammers are hiring teenagers in order to promote their stinking products. There’s some spam report tool in Facebook, isn’t it?
