Hooray, Jonathan from Google Inside reports that there already is an official Alexa toolbar for Firefox, so long we have been waiting for that release! I guess soon we will see some nice improvements of Alexa stats, especially owners of geeky sites might be satisfied. I’ve just installed it, of course I recommend doing the same way for you.

PS: Alexa Related Links totally sucks. If you would like to turn it off, just click on the Sparky and go to Enable menu section, and there it is.

A large part of the internet doesn’t use the Alexa toolbar so why bother with their service?
I’m not planning to install the toolbar. Ever.

Just because Alexa is one of the major factors that matter when you monetize a website, Marc.
Graph of traffic trend & Alexa ranking might be a nice addition to your browser, thanks to Alexa toolbar you know were you are. I like it a lot

But absolutely no one I know uses the Alexa toolbar! I doubt even 1% of the internet users in my country use it. Most have never even heard of it.
One of many articles that disagree with Alexa rankings:

It’s easy to disagree, but as the market shows it’s IMPOSSIBLE to find a better equivalent. Unless everybody install Google Analytics haha

It’s happening already in a way. Google Page Rank is thought of more highly than Alexa ranking.

Even as I agree (currently I don’t
), Google PageRank doesn’t show the traffic, right? So PR and Alexa are two dramatically different factors…
First one gives you a chance to estimate how much an ad on a site might be worth (’coz it could be easily played and not up-to-date), thanks to the second one you get a chance to see is it viable according to trusted stats of incoming traffic (Alexa stats cannot be ripped off)
