Hi folks. I wanted to review that killer Wordpress plugin here, but finally I realized that it’s enough to write a short description and share a few links with you. In the first words, it looks like a great alternative for a little bit sluggish Google Analytics. It shows all sorts of data that common blogger may need: smart lists of referrers, search engine terms, top posts, clicks, and incoming links. Also, there is a smart chart that show last 30 day visits, and another pieces of standard data like total views, best day ever, and views today counter.
In addition - Stats plugin from Automattic works fast as hell. After installation and putting your Wordpress API key, plugin automatically adds a piece of JavaScript code to your WP footer. Once activated, statics for your Wordpress blog appears in your Dashboard. After 20 minutes it starts to show the data.
Read more about that plugin on wordpress.com blog, and download the killer plugin here.
The more I use Wordpress, the more I love it ![]()

Very nice. I first heard about this plugin a few days ago, however I haven’t been able to use it since I’m still a few versions behind on my WordPress — 2.0.4

And what’s the reason why you still don’t upgrade? Lack of time? :>
If your fear, don’t be afraid. It’s simpler than you think. Just make a backup copy of your site (all of files+database) and turn off all of plugins, then upload new files and enjoy.
Also there is a small risk of heaving fun with searching for working replacements for older plugins. Unless you made your own modifications of Wordpress engine, then you have to be afraid a lot.

Just upgraded last night
So far the only thing not working is my top commenters plugin, but I may be switching my theme soon anyway.

Hmmm I always think these things are just one more thing to slow your site down unecessarily.
I just use AW Stats, Webalizer etc… they use C to analyse server logs directly… no overhead on your site that way.
Just my opinion….

Well, currently I’m using triangle of stats, in fact. I have pre-installed Urchin on all of my sites on that server, self-installed Google Analytics, and also I’ve added these great Automattic Stats for Wordpress. I haven’t noticed any slowdown.
